➕ Adding a Trade — 5-Step Wizard

Click the ➕ icon in the sidebar to open the wizard:
Step 1 Details — Symbol, asset class, direction (Long/Short), entry/exit prices, quantity, multiplier, date/time, session, and commission/fee.
Step 2 Setup — Select the setup type (e.g. Breakout, VWAP), market conditions, timeframe, and describe your edge for this trade.
Step 3 Tags — Tag the trade with emotion, strategy, or mistake labels for later filtering and analysis.
Step 4 Media — Attach chart screenshots or video links as evidence of your entry/exit.
Step 5 Notes — Write pre-trade thoughts, in-trade observations, and a post-trade review. Only symbol + entry + exit are required.

📋 Trade Log

The Trade Log (sidebar 📋 icon) lists every trade. Use the filter bar to narrow by date range, symbol, direction, setup type, win/loss, or tag. Click any row to expand it and see full notes, media, and setup details. Use the ✎ edit button to update any field.

📥 Importing from CSV

Go to Import CSV in the sidebar.
Required: date, time, symbol, direction, entry, exit
Optional: asset_class, quantity, contract_multiplier, fee, setup, tags, notes
Date formats: YYYY-MM-DD, MM/DD/YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY.
Time formats: HH:MM, HH:MM:SS, 9:30 AM. If your broker exports a combined datetime in one column (e.g. 2025-03-14 09:32), place it in the date column — the app splits it automatically.
Tags are pipe-separated: breakout|trend|fomo. Comma and semicolon delimiters both supported.

💰 Fees & Net P&L

Enter your broker commission in the Commission / Fees ($) field when adding or editing a trade. Every P&L figure in the app — balance, totals, win rate, equity curve — automatically subtracts fees. You can disable this globally in Settings → Trading → Include Commission in P&L.

📝 Missed Trades

In the sidebar, Missed Trades lets you log setups you saw but didn't take — with estimated P&L, the reason you skipped, and a lesson field. The Analytics tab shows your total missed opportunity over time and which setups you most often avoid.

📆 Day Side Panel

Click any day to open the side panel. It shows the day's net P&L, trade count, checklist progress bars, and every trade logged. Each trade card has a ✎ Edit button (opens the full edit modal) and a ✕ Delete button. 🗑 Clear All removes all trades for that day at once.

🌅 Pre-Session Checklist

Run this before your trading session begins. Click a day → 🌅 Pre-Session. Work through your morning routine items (review economic calendar, identify S/R levels, assess emotional state, etc.). Items come from your Checklist page and are fully editable. Once saved, the side panel shows a green progress bar and count.

📋 Pre-Trade Checklist

Run this before entering each trade to validate your setup. Click a day → 📋 Pre-Trade. Confirm your setup matches strategy, stop-loss is defined, R:R is acceptable, and you're not trading out of FOMO or revenge. Saved independently from Pre-Session. Shows a cyan bar in the side panel.

🎨 Cell Colour Guide

■ Bright green — large net profitable day
■ Faint green — small net profit day
■ Bright red — large net losing day
■ Faint red — small net loss day
★ Big win / big loss — badge on your largest sessions of the month
✓ chk — at least one checklist completed for that day

📊 Calendar Stats Panel

Below the calendar grid you'll find a monthly summary (total trades, net P&L, win rate, profit factor, best day), a daily P&L sparkline, a day-of-week breakdown, and a weekly P&L bar — all updating live as you add trades.

🏠 Dashboard KPIs

Balance = starting balance + all-time net P&L (fees deducted).
Total P&L = sum of all net trades across all time.
Profitability % = total net P&L ÷ starting balance × 100.
Win Rate = % of trades where net P&L > 0.
Profit Factor = gross winning P&L ÷ gross losing P&L. Above 1.5 is solid; above 2.0 is excellent.
Avg Win / Avg Loss — compare these to see if your winners outsize your losers.

📈 Equity Curve

Plots your running account balance after every single trade. A steady upward slope is the goal. Drawdown dips show when your approach changed — look at what was different in those stretches (time of day, setup type, emotional state) to identify patterns.

⏰ Time of Day Analysis

Found in Analytics → Charts. Shows net P&L aggregated by hour of day. If you consistently lose during a specific hour (e.g. 12:00–13:00 lunchtime chop), this chart makes it obvious. Consider avoiding those windows entirely.

📅 Day of Week Breakdown

Shows which days of the week generate the most P&L. Also visible on the calendar monthly stats panel. If Mondays or Fridays are consistently your worst days, the data will tell you — and you can act on it.

📦 Asset Class Breakdown

The Asset tab in Analytics shows P&L, win rate, and average trade result split by Futures, Forex, Stocks, and Crypto. If you're profitable in Futures but losing in Forex, you now have data to focus your effort.

Full searchable, filterable trade table. Expand rows for notes, media, setup detail. Edit any field across 5 tabs. Export to CSV.

✅ Checklist

Two separate lists: Pre-Session and Pre-Trade. Add, edit, delete, and drag-to-reorder items. Category badges. Celebration when all items checked.

📝 Missed Trades

Log setups you skipped. Record symbol, estimated P&L, reason, and lesson. Analytics tab shows opportunity cost and FOMO patterns over time.

📄 Trading Plan

Document your strategy, risk rules, and goals. Track goal progress against real trade data. Linked Trades tab reviews rule compliance per trade.

🔔 Alerts

Set price alerts and rule reminders. View triggered alerts in the sidebar. Alerts can be toggled on/off at any time.

🏷️ Tags

Custom tag library with categories: Strategy, Emotion, Mistake, Market, and Custom. Colour-coded. Used across trade log and analytics filtering.

📥 CSV Import

Bulk import trades from broker CSV exports. Auto-detects comma or semicolon delimiters. Imported trades go directly to your active account.

⚙️ Settings

6 tabs: Account (name, password, accounts), Appearance (themes), Display (currency, format), Trading (multipliers, fees), Data (backup/restore, PWA), How to Use.

Your data never leaves your device

TradeEdge Pro stores everything in your browser's localStorage. There is no server, no cloud sync, and no external connection. No one — including the developers — can access your journal. Your trades are yours alone.

⚠️ Back up your data regularly

Clearing your browser's cache or site data will delete your trades. This is the most common cause of data loss. To back up: Settings → Data → Export Full Journal (JSON). Save this file to your computer, cloud drive, or email it to yourself. To restore, use Import JSON Backup on the same page.

👥 Multiple Users on One Device

Each username has completely isolated data. Multiple traders can share a device — each sees only their own trades, settings, and checklists. Passwords are hashed with SHA-256 and never stored in plain text. To manage accounts: Settings → Account → Delete Account or Settings → Data → Delete All Profiles.

📱 Install as an App (PWA)

Install TradeEdge Pro to your home screen via Settings → Data → App Installation or click the install icon in your browser's address bar. This gives you: offline access, a more stable storage environment, and a native app experience on iOS, Android, and desktop. Recommended for daily use.

🔑 Changing or Recovering Your Password

Go to Settings → Account → Change Password. You'll need your current password to confirm. If you forget your password, there is no recovery — data is local only and there's no reset email. Write your password down somewhere safe.
